FAQs

What does coalescence mean?

It's a phenomenon favoring union of light hydrocarbon droplets to increase the rate of climb.

What is a barrier coalescent?

It's a barrier made of foam. This barrier allows ensuring the flotation of light hydrocarbon droplets by coalescence.

What is a Sludge trap?

It's a part of the installation that holds solids substances to settleable such as sludge and grains of sand. It is characterized by its total water volume and its volume of sludge storage (minimum 2/3 of the total water volume). Upstream grease separator, it allows to blend and cool down the effluent that we have to treat.

What is an appliance elevation?

It's an appliance on the ground or on slab.

What does FES mean?

FES means: Height in mm between the finished ground level and the lower generatrix of the outflow orifice. This measurement allows to determinate what heightening we have to choose.

A Grease separator is specifying for pretreatment of what kind of greases?

According to 1825 norm, the greases and oils from organic sources are greases and oils from animals sources and vegetal not saponifiable or weakly saponifiable.

What is a lamellar system?

Cell composed of channels with wide passage section. This cell works on co-current or upriver and ensures the flotation of the light hydrocarbon droplets by coalescence.

What is an automatic closing system?

It's a system which work under the effect of light liquid accumulation into the separator and which avoid the liquid spilling out of the separator. A system has to prevent no authorized removal of the plug.

What is an « oléophile »?

It's a system of hydrophobic non-woven fiber which absorbs oils and hydrocarbon dispersion. This consumable material is used as finish treatment.

What is a heightening?

The heightening is components which allow extending an opening in the separator until the finished ground level.
These components allow accessing to the separator and doing maintenance.

What does TN mean?

TN is a number without unit. It's approximately equals to numeric value of the maximum effluent flow.

How can we define the residual content?

The residual content is formulated in mg per liter established according to the essay principles of the 858 norm Class I: maximal residual content permitted 5mg/l and Class II maximal residual content permitted 100mg/l.

What does « Break flow » mean?

Break flow is a system which allows reassuring incoming flow in the separator.

What does flow leak mean?

Flow which ensures evacuation of a separator (ex: a tank).

What does dry weather flow mean?

It's the amount of dry weather flow and critical rain.

What is a Storm overflow?

The purpose of a storm overflow is to restrict the flow arriving in downstream treatment plant to its maximum capacity, at the same time ensuring that no flow by-passes the plant before maximum capacity is achieved.

What is an Invert?

It's the upper part of the internal wall separator, channel, sewer, tank….

What is a combined sewer system?

The rain water and waste water are collected by unique sewer.

What is a separate system?

The rain water and wastewater are collected by separate sewer.

What does overflow mean?

It's a disposal through the overflow's spillway, of an excess of water beyond a determinate flow.

What does CE marking means?

The CE marking is a mandatory European marking for all the products subject to one or several European Directives.
CE marking facilitates the free movement of goods European Economic Area. The marking is a key indicator of a product's compliance with EU legislation. By affixing the CE marking to a product, the manufacturer – on his sole responsibility – declares that it meets EU safety, health and environmental requirements.
